A Casualty of ChivalryI blame chivalry- such a glorious lie. Chivalry isn't dead. It never existed. To pretend otherwise is purely arrogance. Nothing is more human than hypocrisy.A Casualty of Chivalry
Chivalry-the lie that fought
despair with illusory nostalgic lace. Lace cannot extinguish the fires of avarice, the plagues of hypocrisy and apathy. Lace burns.

A Fatal TapestryWords unravel before my pen, steadfast loom-work reduced to vowels and consonants, incoherent threads of passion- that is- incoherent to all but me.A Fatal Tapestry
The shuttle becomes traitorous, piercing my heart and not the wool. Instead of thread, my heart is stretched and wound about a spool.
The stronger I see the web
of my life before me, of my brethren around (and against) me, the faster my pattern dissolves and I am nothing.
I see the sameness when I'd rather not. A murderer. My best friend. My worst enemy. All are the sa

Forgotten FaithThere was a time when I had faith in truth, but truth is a gnatForgotten Faith
to be swept away or a beast with jaws.
There was a time when I had faith in love, but what is love
but the day before, the denial before disaster?
There was a time
when I had faith in friendship, but I watched as we all fell, one by one. I watched as we all did nothing, one by one. I watched until I recognized no one, least of all myself.
There was a time when I had faith in understanding, but you tried to draw a Mason-Dixon Line di

House of CardsEver notice how everyone plays those little built-in games that come with your computer, but no one ever seems to win? Do you feel slightly inadequate in the face of your solitaire-related failures? Do you play in vain for hours each day, or even worse, know by heart your win-lose record? Don’t worry. It’s not your fault. It’s the system. The real problem with solitaire is the lack of room for innovation. The games are played, or rather solved, according to a strict formula. There are two possible outcomes-one can win, or one can lose.&nbHouse of Cards

The Death of LoveI walk into your house,The Death of Love
so familiar, so quiant. And I recognize the smell
of half dried paint.
I look all around, and finally see you; so happy and cheerful, unaware that we're through.
When I think about how it used to be you dont seem like the same one my best friend forever, we had so much fun.
Who the hell are you? Where did you go? So much pain you've caused and you still don't know.
So damn nieve How long can you deny? That you've hurt everyone around you how many times you've made me cry.

Interesting, I also grew up (and am still growing up!) in a house with a huge garden and about fifteen apple trees. That's really why I chose aplpe trees instead of, say, cherry - it is a very personal tree to me.
Also, though your interpretation of the frost being the subject in the poem is sound, my intention was to use the frost/winter as a kind of counter-force to the real object of my criticism - namely Man and his machines.
Thanks again, good to hear from you.

“I wanted you to see what real courage is, instead of getting the idea that courage is a man with a gun in his hand. It’s when you know you’re licked before you begin but you begin anyway and you see it through no matter what.” - Harper Lee
